From bulluck cart to Blogging.....My childhood memories
By Sonali Tend
I have seen my country growing since my childhood, when I was 6 year old bulckcart was the only option for travelling from one place to other village and farmer was at the center of every thing. Like wise communication too was unique, my grand moms brother use to send detailed message to my grandmother from other village through a verbal instructions, the message would then be given to my grand mother in verbal, the person giving message would come in our house sit with us and tel us what my grand moms brother has told to her. The literacy rate too was equal to zero that time, a literate person would behave like a hero in our village, and he too would get so much respect from every one. Schools too were very unique that time there would be only one thing required for all standards till 4th that was a slate made up of a type of stone, and chalk pencil to write on, we use to learn our lesson on this slate and pencil. There too was a competition amongst all of us to write beautiful handwriting on slate with chalk pencil, that use to be our regular home work and incase if we did not do that we use to tell our teacher that it got rubbed while coming to school, some times it use to be fact, we use to face sudden jerk of hand of our friends on the homework and we use to get punishment from our teacher. Currency too was very flexible; I have given a kilogram of wheat to shopkeeper and got in exchange all goods like sugar, and tea, and soap oil and other things which are used for daily in an Indian house. I still remember there was rainy season approaching and my grad mom wanted to sow seeds in the farm I was 6th year old then my grandpa carried me on his shoulder and walked to his sisters village which is about 40 kilometer far, we started in morning and in afternoon we reached there, in between there were nothing it was all farms and farms, river and mountains around. I remember while traveling my grandpa gave me a sweet, and I asked from where he got this, he said he got it from here, and when now I travel to same spot, I still remember that and still feel there may be some sops around from where my grandpa got the sweet for me, but in fact that’s just illusion, actually he had carried the sweet for me to give me that while walking. The people too were very kind hearted. Now the picture is completely changed some thing are good and others are not. Like the culture in schools, we use to respect our teachers and teachers would teach their students not for salary but for their passion for teaching, now the profession of teaching has become a business. We use to obey our elders and teachers now today’s generation is very liberal , they just want their share of life at the cost of any thing , they have forgotten the value of giving some thing to society at least the kind of respect we use to lend to our teachers and elders. Today our society is been attached by many bad habits like tobacco cigarettes and gutkha and drugs too, the more we are learned more we have gone down , there use to be great culture in old times , and that’s not so far I am just talking about few decades before what India use to be. Now my country is so much grown up that I don’t have to go out of my home for any job, I am the very same guy , who have experienced every thing in my life , and now I am an online entrepreneur, I am a professional blogger. I blog for money , I make money with websites and blogs , so that I don’t even have to go to any job , I get paid for writing on my blog, it’s a great business and there too is good money. I have written on my other website how one can actually make his carrier in blogging and make great money which every one dream for in their life.

It is sad to see old values give way to more liberal values of the new generation.
